What is the Interbeing Wellness Series?

The Interbeing Wellness series first started out as the "Stress Busting" program in 2020 during the onset of Covid, offering online (Zoom) wellness promoting practices drawing from Qi Gong (Tai Chi) and Mindfulness Meditation. In 2024, we rebranded the program as 'Interbeing Wellness' to acknowledge that in order to heal our world, and others around us, we must first HEAL OURSELVES.

Each series of Interbeing Wellness lasts eight to ten weeks, and includes twice weekly Qi Gong, and once weekly meditation. Each session is also recorded, so if you ever want to revisit a practice or want to learn more during an off-season, feel free to follow this link.

What can I expect?

​There are two types of sessions in the Interbeing Wellness series, Qi Gong and Mindfulness Meditation. Both are done online through zoom.

Qi Gong happens twice weekly. Lead by Dr. Harvey Skinner, and modeled after the Holden Qigong School where Dr. Skinner is a Certified Tier 1 Holden Qigong Teacher, each session includes various exercises that are sequenced according to seven main components: Breathwork, Activation Exercises, Stretching Exercises, Massage and Acupressure Practices, Purging Exercises, Flowing Movements, Meditations. Sessions last thirty minutes, and time will be available after for a Q&A. 

 

Mindfulness Meditation happens once a week. It is run by Susan Harris, who has over thirty years of experience based on Buddhist teachings and practices, as well as a Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification from a training program led by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. Although they often change week to week, sessions will generally follow three key characteristics: Intention, Attention, and Attitude.

Please note that while all sessions are recorded. Cameras and microphones are never required, and participants are more than welcome to have them turned off during the entire Zoom.
