What is a climate fresk?
This is a collaborative and engaging workshop that combines science, creativity, and your powers of deduction to explore the challenges of climate change and its impact on biodiversity. Working in groups, participants engage in a facilitated activity specifically designed to deepen their understanding of the factors driving climate disruption, as well as the effects these changes have on our daily lives and the planet. Through teamwork, meaningful, moderated discussion, and a little self-expression, teams will use their newfound tools and knowledge to generate ideas and solutions to help create a greener, more sustainable world! And hopefully, you'll have a great time doing it.
What can I expect?
Ok, in full transparency, we're not really allowed to tell you. The mystery is part of the experience!
We know that can sound scary, so what we can tell you is that you'll be participating in a hands-on activity in groups of up to 7 people and a certified group facilitator who will make sure the activities run smoothly, and that everyone feels comfy and has a chance to participate in whatever way they feel comfortable throughout the entire experience.
This workshop was developed based on evidence-based materials (which are currently top secret), but will be fully disclosed at the beginning of the workshop, so you can feel confident the information presented is current, peer-reviewed, and in accordance with the current global standard of environmental science.
We can also tell you that while you're encouraged to participate in discussions throughout the workshop, you will never be asked to do anything that makes you uncomfortable, rules for respectful communication and idea sharing will be established at the beginning of the activity, and the facilitator will always be present to make sure they're followed.
The workshop will last three hours, from "Hi, how are you," to cookies and coffee. Our hope is that you not only leave feeling more confident and prepared to talk about climate change, but maybe you also connect with likeminded people you can continue your conversation with at one of our future events!
